HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's soccer team dropped a South Atlantic Conference matchup on Tuesday (Oct. 25) to the visiting No. 25 nationally ranked Tusculum College Pioneers by a score of 2-0.
In the opening minute, the Cobras had an opportunity to strike first, when Tusculum committed a foul in the box, giving Coker a penalty kick. However, a save by the Pioneers would spoil the early chance for Navy and Gold.
Tusculum would use the save as momentum, scoring goals in the 13th and 41st minute to take a 2-0 lead into the half.
The scoreboard remained untouched in the final 45 minutes as the Cobras could not find the back of the net, despite logging seven shots.
Kohl Thompson, Rohan Francis and Aladdin Elfares led the way with one shot on goal, while Mads Aagurd finished with four shots. In goal, Michael Ritterbeck collected three saves.
The Cobras will travel to Carson-Newman on Saturday (Oct. 29) for their regular-season finale. Opening kick is set for 4:30 p.m.
