Cobras Fall to No. 6 Wingate in Midweek SAC Road Matchup

Alvaro Urena scored the lone goal in Coker's lost to Wingate University.

WINGATE, N.C. – The Coker College men's soccer team dropped a South Atlantic Conference road matchup to the No. 6 nationally-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs.

Four Wingate goals in the opening 45 minutes put the Bulldogs out in front 4-0 as the teams headed to the locker rooms for halftime.

Alvaro Urena put the Navy and Gold on the board in the 47th minute, chipping a ball just inside the box over the Wingate keeper. However, it would not be enough, as Wingate picked up the midweek SAC win.

The Cobras will be back in action on Saturday (Oct. 8) when they are scheduled to take on the visiting Tusculum College Pioneers. Opening kick is set for 4 p.m
