Coker Men's Soccer Gets Hands in on Hands on Hartsville Initiative

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's soccer team spent Saturday (Apr. 18) morning getting its hands dirty while taking part in the Hands on Hartsville initiative.

The mission of Hands on Hartsville is to provide leadership development for college students while bringing together all sectors of the community in support of local non-profit agencies. Volunteers and project coordinators from throughout the Hartsville community supported local non-profit agencies with various service projects.

"The Hands on Hartsville projects was very eye-opening for the guys," said head coach Chris Williams. "We have done a lot of service projects, but this one was different. Being able to do something for the people that go above and beyond to provide great benefits to the surrounding community was special to us."

The men's soccer team's service project sent it to the New Vision Community Development Corporation, where they did an assortment of yard work.
