Coker's Norton-Baker Named AstroTurf SAC Player of the Week
Connor Norton-Baker has been selected as the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week.
HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Coker forward Connor Norton-Baker has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for games played Oct. 27-Nov. 2, the League announced today.
Norton-Baker, a sophomore from Myrtle Beach, S.C., scored a pair of goals to lift the Cobras to a 3-2 double-overtime win over Brevard on Nov. 1 to secure Coker's spot in the 2014 South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Championship. He pounded in the game tying goal in the 76th minute on a Chris Martin assist from inside the box. Norton-Baker put in the golden goal in the 103rd minute as he took a Martin assist and beat the keeper on a breakaway.
For the season, Norton-Baker has scored four goals with two assists, including game-winning goals against Lenoir-Rhyne and Brevard.
An undecided major, Norton-Baker is the son of Laura Norton and Tom Baker.
