HICKORY, N.C. – Daniel Jackson scored twice, while Kyndle Cobb posted a shutout as the regionally ranked No. 5 Coker Cobras defeated the regionally ranked No. 8 Lenoir-Rhyne Bears, 2-0, on Wednesday (Sept. 25) in South Atlantic Conference men's soccer action.

With the win the Cobras move to 2-0-1 in the SAC and 3-1-2 overall.

Coker and L-R seemed evenly matched through the first 30 minutes of action, as both teams were unable to capitalize on scoring chances. Jackson broke the scoring drought in the 32^nd when he stole a failed clear off a goal kick and beat the Bear's keeper for his third goal of the season.

Jackson wasted no time adding his second goal of the match in the 38^th minute of play. After weaving his way through the Bear defense, he fired a shot at the far post and past the goalkeeper.

The Cobra defense buckled down and held the two-goal advantage through the rest of the match. Cobb earned his second clean sheet of the season with eight saves.

Coker will return to action on Saturday (Sept. 28) in a conference match at 7 p.m. against Queens University of Charlotte.
