Scrivens Scores Twice to Give Coker 2-1 Win Over #19 Anderson

ANDERSON, S.C. – Stephen Scrivens found the back of the net in the 108th minute of play, leading the Cobras to a 2-1 double-overtime win against nationally ranked No. 19 Anderson University on Saturday (Sept. 21) in men's soccer action. The win gives Coker its first in the South Atlantic Conference, improving its conference record to 1-0-1 and its overall record to 2-1-2.

After a scoreless first half of action, Scrivens netted the first goal of the match off a penalty kick in the 46th minute of play. Anderson evened the score when Andre Carle scored in the 62nd minute. The score remained tied through the end of regulation and through the first overtime.

It looked as if the Cobras were going play to their third consecutive tie, until Scrivens scored his second goal of the match, and of the season, with just a minute and a half left on the clock off a corner kick from Jordan Snell to give Coker the win.

Kyndle Cobb made three saves and allowed just one goal in the net for the Cobras.

The Cobras will continue their road trip on Wednesday (Sept. 25) when they travel to Lenoir-Rhyne for the conference match at 7 p.m.
