Men's Soccer to Take on Lenoir-Rhyne on Saturday

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Cobra men's soccer team will host the Bears of Lenoir-Rhyne in a non-conference soccer match at 7 p.m. on Saturday (Sept. 8) at the Coker Soccer Field. The match will be video-streamed live online and can be viewed at www.cokercobras.com.

Ranked No. 5 in the Southeast Region according to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), the Coker men are looking to bounce back from a tough 2-1 loss to Florida Tech on Tuesday. Daniel Jackson scored the Cobras' lone goal of the match, his first of the season. The Cobras have spread the wealth so far this season, as five different players have each scored a goal.

The Bears of Lenoir-Rhyne are coming off a pair of double-OT matches that included a 2-1 loss to Limestone and a 1-1 tie against USC Aiken. Tobias Tobrant is the offensive leader with two goals this season.

Coker holds a 6-1-2 record all-time against L-R, with the last meeting coming in 2003. The Cobras and the Bears played to a 2-2 tie. This will be the last non-conference meeting between the two teams, as the Cobras will be joining the Indians next year in the South Atlantic Conference.
