Three Cobras Receive First Team All-Region Honors

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The honors continue to roll in for the Coker men's soccer team, as three players were named to the Daktronics First Team All-Southeast Region team on Tuesday. Junior forward Carlos Recinos (Houston, Texas), freshman defender Fernando Bedoya (Miami, Fla.) and junior goalkeeper James Sweeney (Huntingtown, Md.) each received First Team honors.

All three were also First Team All-Conference selections, including Recinos earning Conference Carolinas Player of the Year honors, as they led the Cobras to an 18-3 overall record and a 10-1 conference record. Additionally, they led Coker to their first ever Conference Carolinas regular season championship, their second conference tournament championship in three years and their first ever NCAA Tournament appearance.

The Daktronics NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region Teams are voted on by the sports information directors of the Southeast Region. The region is comprised of the Conference Carolinas, the Peach Belt Conference, and the South Atlantic Conference.

Members of the first team are now eligible for Daktronics NCAA Division II All-America honors.
