Coker Men's Soccer Ranked No. 5 Nationally
The Coker College men’s soccer team moved up to a No. 5 national ranking according to this week’s National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll.
HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men’s soccer team moved up to a No. 5 national ranking according to this week’s National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll, the highest ranking in Coker history.
The Cobras are the only Conference Carolinas team in the national poll and are the highest ranked team in the Southeast Region. Coker jumped up five spots from last week’s poll after a pair of wins last week, including capturing the team’s first ever Conference Carolinas Regular Season Championship with a 3-0 win over St. Andrews.
Along with their No. 5 national ranking, the Coker men are the No. 1 ranked team in the Southeast Region. Other Conference Carolinas schools that are ranked in the Southeast Region include Lees-McRae at No. 6, and Erskine College at No. 10.
The Cobras open play in the Conference Carolinas Tournament on Tuesday night as the top seed in the tournament. Coker will host Queens University of Charlotte at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinal game.
