BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Coker men’s soccer team closed out their 2010 regular season with a 2-1 loss at Lees-McRae on Saturday evening. The Cobras finish out their regular season with a record of 6-5-4 overall and 3-4-2 in Conference Carolinas play, placing them in sixth in the conference standings heading to the playoffs starting on Tuesday.

The Cobras were first to strike with a goal from Eric Stiefield (Eustis, Fla.) on an assist from Storm Wishart (Brampton, Ontario) in the fifth minute of the game. Lees-McRae evened the game at a goal apiece with a goal from David Palmer on an assist from Luke Perry.

Just a minute into the second half the Bobcats went up for good with a goal from Lee Squires on an assist from Addison Day.

As the #6 seed in the Conference Carolinas Tournament, the Cobras will now prepare to take on the #3 seed Limestone in the first round of the tournament starting Tuesday afternoon. Kick-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at Limestone.
