High Point, N.C.-Coker College’s Rommel Fondin has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas men’s soccer Player of the Week during week number one in the 2010 season.

Coker's sophomore midfielder Rommel Fondin (Palm Bay, Fla.) got his season off to great start this week with a pair of game winning goals for the Cobras. Fondin gave Coker a pair of 1-0 wins thanks to two spectacular goals. The first goal came near the end of the first half of play against Francis Marion, when Fondin found the back of the net on a penalty kick. Then at the start of the second half against Florida Tech, Fondin once again tickled the twine for the Cobras, this time off a free kick from nearly 30 yards out. Thanks to Fondin's offense and stellar team defense the Cobras are off to a great start in the 2010 season with a 2-0 record.

The Cobras return to action Wednesday night against USC-Aiken at 7:00 p.m. at Aiken. Catch all the action online with live stats http://livestats.prestosports.com/uscaiken/
