Wilson, N.C. – AJ Sweeney’s (Huntingtown, Md.) goal in the 69th minute of play gave Coker College a 1-0 victory over Barton College in Conference Carolinas men’s soccer action. The win gives the Cobras their first season with double digit wins in more than 20 year, as they improve to 10-3-2 overall, and 4-3-1 in conference play.

In a mostly defensive battle neither team was able to find the back of the net with the Cobras outshooting the Bulldogs 12-4. Sweeney was able to get the game winning goal past the Bulldog defense in the 69th minute thanks to an assist from Tyler Senecal (Mt. Pleasant, N.C.).

Coker returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 24, in their final regular season home match of the season. The Cobras take on the Trojans of Anderson University at 4:00 p.m. at the Coker College Soccer Field.
