Tigerville, S.C. – The Coker men’s soccer team improved to 3-0 to start the 2009 season with a 3-0 win over the Crusaders of North Greenville on Wednesday night. The win marks the second straight shutout for the Cobras and the first 3-0 start to a season in the history of the program.
Daniel Shrizad (Orlando, Fla.), Enrique Barrientos (Plano, Texas) and AJ Sweeney (Huntingtown, Md.) each scored a goal for the Cobras, while James Sweeney (Huntingtown, Md.) earned his second shutout and third victory as the Cobras goalkeeper.
Coker returns to the field this weekend when they travel to Mars Hill College for a 3:00 p.m. match on Saturday and then the Cobras will travel to Brevard College for a 2:00 p.m. match on Sunday.
