Hartsville, S.C. – A pair of goals by Daniel Shrizad (Orlando, FL) gave the Cobras their first Conference Carolinas victory of the season, as they defeated the Erskine College Flying Fleet, 2-1 in men’s collegiate soccer on Saturday. The win improves Coker’s record to 4-8-1 overall, and 1-5 in the conference, while Erskine falls to 6-5 overall, and 3-1 in the conference.

Shrizad netted the first goal of the game in the 28th minute when Jason Fowler (Sanford, FL) sent a cross into the box that Shrizad headed into the back of the net. Erskine’s Brian Endres evened the score in the 39th minute with an assist from Tyrell Dyson.

The score remained even at one and looked like it may move to overtime, but then Shrizad was able to find the back of the net a second time in the 81st minute, giving the Cobras the lead and the eventual win.

Coker will not wait long for their next match, as they take on Mars Hill at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.
