FLORENCE, S.C. – The Coker College men’s soccer team was upended by Patriots fo Francis Marion University on Wednesday afternoon by a score of 3-0. It was a foul laden match between the cross-town rivals with 35 fouls and four yellow cards dealt out during the 90 minutes of play.

With the win the Patriots improve to 2-4-2 on the season, while the Cobras fall to 1-6-1 overall.

Emerson Peredo recorded his first points of the match with a goal in the 36th minute with an assist from Adrian Sikorski, putting FMU up 1-0. The score remained unchanged through the rest of the first half, until the Peredo-Sikorski tandem struck again in the 53rd minute. This time it was Peredo with the assist and Sikorski with the goal, giving the Patriots the 2-0 lead.

Juan Rivas put the nail in the coffin with a goal in the 67th minute with some help from Ivan Juric and Alden Brooks.

Cobra keeper, Ryan Lewis (Satellite Beach, FL) had three saves in the match, with FMU out shooting Coker 15-6 in the match.

Coker returns home for their next match, as they take to the pitch to face North Greenville at 7:00 p.m., on Monday, September 29.
