BANNER ELK, N.C. -- Nick Robinson scored a goal and had an assist to lead the Lees-McRae Bobcats (6-1, 2-0) to a 3-0 shutout of the Coker College Cobras (1-5-1, 0-3) in a Conference Carolinas clash Saturday at Tate Field.

In the 10th minute, Robinson flicked a header into to back of the net on a free kick deliver by Jamie Price to give the Bobcats a 2-0 lead.

Robinson's assist came in the 29th minute when he beat a defender and put a cross past the keeper to give David Palmer a one-timer for the goal to make it 2-0.

The Bobcats third goal came in the 56th minute when Johnny Bownes headed a throw-in from Grant Elder past the keeper to give the match its final score of 3-0.

The Bobcats out-shot the Cobras 17-7. 

Sean Paradise had three saves in goal for the Bobcats to earn the shutout.

"This was a quality team win," said head coach Chris Whalley.

The Bobcats next match will be at Tate Field against Pikeville College Tuesday, September 23rd at 7 p.m. in a non-conference match, while Coker will face Francis Marion University on Thursday, at 4:00 p.m.
