Belmont, N.C. - Belmont Abbey freshman forward Adam Gray scored the only goal of the match in the 12th minute as the Crusaders men's soccer team earned a 1-0 shutout win over visiting Coker College this afternoon. The Abbey improves its record to 4-3-0 overall and evens its Conference Carolinas slate to 1-1, while the Cobras fall to 1-4-1 overall and 0-2-0 in Conference Carolinas.

The Crusaders outshot the Cobras 13-5 as Gray gave the Abbey the only goal it would need at the 11:15 mark. Off of a corner kick Momoh Kanneh headed the ball at the goal that was deflected by Coker netminder Joel Tyson, but his carom went directly to Gray as he buried home the winner for a 1-0 lead, which proved to be the final.

In addition to outshooting Coker 13-5, the Abbey held a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks. Bryan Alenky made four saves in the net, while Tyson collected seven.
