ANDERSON, S.C. -- Stephon Henry scored two goals to lead Anderson University to a 3-1 victory over Coker in a CVAC match Saturday afternoon at Smethers Field.

"We gutted it out today," said Anderson head coach Rob Miller. "We used a lot of energy and emotion against Erskine Thursday night. We were not mentally ready, but we did what we had to do. Stephon's two goals came on hustle and effort."

The victory earns Anderson, 9-9 overall and 4-6 in the CVAC, a trip to the CVAC Tournament, which begins Wednesday at the top four seeds. The Trojans will travel to Queens University of Charlotte Wednesday for a quarterfinal match. The match will begin at 7 p.m.

Anderson has now won four straight by a combined score of 21-3.

The loss ends Coker's season at 3-14, 2-8.

The Cobras struck first at 32:17 when Colin Ryan blasted a free kick that Anderson goalkeeper Andy Barth stopped but could not control. Matthew Jarrett charged the net and scored on the rebound for Coker.

Anderson answered at 33:50 when Dave Taylor played the ball to Jordan Kelly, who then chipped it over Coker goalkeeper Joel Tyson for the equalizer.

Kelly, a freshman from London, England, has scored seven goals during Anderson's winning streak.

Henry, a sophomore from Kingston, Jamaica, scored the first of his two goals at 77:48. Jon Scott played the ball from the left wing and Michael Zion tipped it to Henry, who knocked it in.

Henry scored an insurance goal at 88:12 when the Cobras had a misplay in the back. Henry collected the loose ball and then beat Tyson.
