Hartsville, SC- On Saturday, the Montreat Cavaliers were led by Senior, Sherman Gardner, as he scored three goals to help win 4-2 over the Coker College Cobras.

 

Four minutes into the game Montreat’s Sherman Gardner scored on a direct kick with an assist by Romario Blandon. 

 

However the Cobras would quickly answer back three minutes later when Dennis Gonzalez headed the ball into the goal off of Colin Ryan’s Indirect Kick.

 

The Cavalier’s Sherman Gardner would score two more goals before the end of the first half.  He blasted one past goalie Nathan Scales inside the 18 and he capped off a hat trick when he scored from the far left post with an assist from Tomile Towah. 

 

Twenty seconds into the second half the Cavaliers would score when Mauricio Almendarez scored off of a rebound and fired the ball in the upper left corner of the net. 

 

The final goal of the game came when Coker’s Oliver Harper scored off an assist from Colin Ryan in the 48th minute of the game.

 

Coker’s next match comes on Wednesday, October 11, when they travel to play the Pfeiffer Falcons at 4:00 p.m.
