Hartsville, SC- The Coker College Cobras won a great game on Tuesday night when they defeated the Barton College Bulldogs in overtime.

The game started off with the Bulldogs taking the early lead.  Justin Potter made a great effort by saving the ball off the line, but Barton’s Scott Summers took the ball off the rebound scoring around goalie, Nathan Scales.

However Cobras would answer back after Barton committed a handball inside the box.  This gave Coker a penalty kick in which Colin Ryan drove the ball in the lower left hand corner of the net.

Coker’s Keeper, Nathan Scales, made a great save in the first half when Barton’s Hector Bermudez had him one on one and failed to score.  However, Bermudez would answer back when he lead a pass through the middle to Scott Summers who knocked it past the goalie to score.

With fourteen minutes and the Cobras desperately needing a goal, Junior Jake Wyman had a great assist when he led Zack Sneed for a goal.  This tied the game at 2-2.

In overtime, the Cobras and the Bulldogs were in a tight battle.  But with three minutes remaining in the first overtime, Ben Beetch scored the winning goal by moving through the defense scoring in the lower bottom corner from 30 yards out.

This moves the Cobras to 2-2 in the conference and 3-7 for the season. The next game for the Cobras is on the 30th of September at home against Limestone College.
