Wingate, NC- The Coker College Men’s Soccer Team got shut out in their opening game of the 2006 season 2-0 by the Wingate Bulldogs on Friday night. Like the women the night before, Coker saw their first game under new head coach, Robert Lane, go down as a loss.

 

The Cobra Men were out shot 16-6, with one Wingate goal coming off a free kick and the other off a penalty kick.

 

Senior Sean Maupin recorded two shots in the game, while junior goalkeeper Nathan Scales had eight saves in the match.

 

Coker (0-1) will look to get things back to even when they travel to UNC-Pembroke on Tuesday, August 29. The women play at 5:00 p.m. followed by the men at 7:00 p.m.
