How It Happened
The Cobras put the pressure on early, scoring the first four goals of the contest to head up 4-0. Ajemian scored two of his three during this time (Forehand Hiltz assisting), with Augie Ford (unassisted) and Justin Beighey (Jackson Duke assist) scoring the other two. Mars Hill got on the board to make it 4-1, but the Cobras got one back before the end of the first period on another Ford (unassisted) goal to make it 5-1.
That Ford goal started another run that continued into the second quarter, with four more scored to go on a 5-0 run to make it 9-1. Rumbaugh (unassisted), Hiltz (Ajemian assist), Duke (unassisted), and Forehand (unassisted) all got on the board during that time frame. The Lions scored two more to bring it back to 9-3, followed by another Ajemian goal (unassisted) to make it 10-3. Mars Hill got on the board, followed by a Hiltz goal (Forehand assist) to bring it to 11-4. To close out the half, it was the Lions scoring again but Hiltz (Sean Moran assist) got on the board to bring it to 12-5 at the halftime break.
The Cobras used their cushion to win this game, scoring two more at the beginning of the second half with Beighey (Rumbaugh assist) and Rumbaugh (unassisted) to wrap up the scoring. When all was said and done, it was the Cobras walking away with the big-time win at home!
