Men's Lacrosse Falls to Anderson (S.C.) in Senior Night Affair

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Coker University men's lacrosse fell to Anderson (S.C.) on Senior Day Friday night (Apr. 22) by a score of 18-15.

Henry Haskett opened the scoring from Zyaire Marshall three minutes in, before Sean Moran scored unassisted to put the Cobras ahead 2-0 five minutes in. After the Trojans got on the board, Marshall responded with an unassisted goal to put the Cobras ahead 3-1 at the halfway point of the period. Anderson closed the quarter with four consecutive goals to take a 5-3 lead to the second.

Anderson would win the second quarter to take a 13-7 lead to the half. The Cobras would rally in the third quarter to get back within four headed to the fourth. Coker out-scored Anderson 2-1 in the fourth to bring the game to its final score.

Justin Beighey and Cal Gibson each recorded hat tricks in the game, while Marshall, Haskett and Moran each netted two goals and Caden Gore and Corey Gales each scored once. Gibson helped on three Coker goals in the game, while four others each assisted on goals in the game. Coker out-worked Anderson 42-37 in ground balls, led by a game-high 14 from Nathan Allan. 14 other Cobras picked up ground balls in the game. Allan also paced the Cobras with four of Coker's 15 caused turnovers, while Ryan Bass and Will Pollok each had three. Ethan Hofert had two, while Donovin Jones, Gibson and Gales each had one. Hofert made 15 saves in the game between the pipes.

This concludes the 2022 Coker men's lacrosse season.
