FULL SOUTH ATLANTIC CONFERENCE RELEASE

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Coker University sophomore attackman Joe Venazio was named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the league today (Monday, Feb. 24).

Venazio led the Cobras to two wins on the week, with the Cobras defeating Barton 19-12 on Tuesday (Feb. 18) and Embry-Riddle (Fla.) 16-15 on Sunday (Feb. 23). Venazio totaled nine goals and four assists for 13 points for the week, leading the Cobras in scoring during both games. Venazio also totaled nine ground balls and five caused turnovers in the pair of wins for Coker.

This is Venazio's second Offensive Player of the Week honor this season, as he was named Offensive Player of the Week back on Feb. 3 after Coker's 20-7 victory over Lees-McRae.

The Myrtle Beach, S.C. native is the son of Joe and Tanya Venazio, and is an exercise science major.
