Joe Venazio Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Offensive Player of the Week

FULL SOUTH ATLANTIC CONFERENCE RELEASE

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Coker University attackman Joe Venazio was named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the league today (Monday, Feb. 3).

Venazio scored six goals and dished out four assists, both team-highs in Coker's 20-7 win over Lees-McRae to open the 2020 season on Sunday (Feb. 3). Venazio's 10 points were just one shy of his single-game record of 11 that he set against Chowan in last year's season opener.

Venazio currently leads the South Atlantic Conference in goals, assists and points.

The Myrtle Beach, S.C. native is the son of Joe and Tanya Venazio, and is an exercise science major.

The Cobras return to action on Wednesday (Feb. 5) at Chowan for a non-conference contest. Opening faceoff is set for 3:00 p.m., with video and live stats available at www.cokercobras.com.
