Hagy, Irizarry Earn Preseason All-Conference Honors
The Coker College men's lacrosse team was picked to finish seventh in the South Atlantic Conference, and the sophomore duo of Chris Hagy and Ethan Irizarry were also announced as Preseason Second Team All-South Atlantic Conference Selections.
HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker College men's lacrosse team was picked to finish seventh in the South Atlantic Conference, and the sophomore duo of Chris Hagy and Ethan Irizarry were also announced as Preseason Second Team All-South Atlantic Conference Selections.
Hagy, a sophomore goalie from Bel Air, Maryland, lands on the all-conference list following a solid freshman campaign that saw him finish fourth in the conference in wins last year. Hagy started and appeared in 14 games last year and recorded 135 saves for a 49% save percentage.
Irizarry, a sophomore midfielder from New York, New York, earned his preseason all-conference nod after an impressive freshman season of his own. Irizarry appeared in 15 games last year with 14 starts and led the team with 27 goals, which was the 11th best in the South Atlantic Conference. He also finished second on the team in points with 35 and ended the year with the fourth-most shots in the conference.
The Cobras will open up their season on Feb. 6 at home when they face-off with Chowan at 2:00 PM.
