Cobras Host Lincoln Memorial on Senior Day

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker College men's lacrosse team will host Lincoln Memorial University to conclude their season tomorrow (Apr. 22) afternoon on senior day. Opening face off is set for 4 p.m. Live stats and video will be available at www.cokercobras.com. 

Prior to Saturday's game, Coker will be honoring its five seniors in Bradly Lucas, Patrick Timothee, Anthony Malik, Tyler Kraemer, and Austin Holgate. 

Lucas is a Sociology Major with a Minor in Business and is from Winter Springs, Fla. During his time at Coker, Bradly has appeared in 31 games, starting in 20 of them. He has recorded 38 ground balls and 17 caused turnovers for the Navy and Gold. 

Timothee is a Business Administration Major from Plantation, Fla. He has appeared in 55 games over his time at Coker. During his 4 years, Pat has collected 101 ground balls and has caused 45 turnovers. This season, Timothy had his best offensive year yet, scoring 10 of his career 14 goals. In addition, Timothee earned All-Conference honors during the 2016 season.

Malik is a Physical Education and Exercise Science Major with a Minor in Spanish. He has accuulated an excellent GPA of 3.79. The Knoxville, Md. native has appeared in 35 games collecting 260 saves, with multiple 15-plus save games during his time as a Cobra.

Kraemer is Business Management from Forest Hill, Md. During his time representing the Navy and Gold, he has caused 18 turnovers while picking up 40 ground balls. In addition, Kraemer holds an impressive 3.6 GPA. 

Holgate is a Physical Education Major with a 3.35 GPA, from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Holgate has appeared in 54 games during his Cobra career and has compiled 14 goals as a long stick midfielder, while scooping up 83 ground balls and causing 38 turnovers. 

The Navy and Gold enter tomorrow's matchup with a 4-9 overall record and a 1-6 mark in the South Atlantic Conference. Most recently, the Cobras defeated Lees-McRae on Apr. 17 by a 19-17 final score. During the game, Garrett Kilgore led the Cobras offensively with a career best seven goals, tying the Coker single game goals record. In addition, the 19 goals Coker tallied was the second highest total scored in a game in program history. Throughout the season, the Cobras have been led offensively by Vinny Magro (20g, 15a), Rylee Marsh (17g, 14a), and Garrett Kilgore (25g, 3a). Magro's 15 assists comes in as the fifth highest total in the South Atlantic Conference.

On the defensive end of the field, the Navy and Gold have received notable performances from Charles Stafford and Austin Holgate. Stafford has collected 44 ground balls and has caused six turnovers, while Holgate has scooped up 26 ground balls and has caused 15 turnovers. In addition, the long stick midfielder has knack for finding the back of the net with nine goals on the year. Defensive midfielder Patrick Timothee has been a dynamic piece to the Cobras transition offense by collecting 23 ground balls, causing nine turnovers, and tallying 10 goals. 

Lincoln Memorial heads into tomorrow's game sporting a 7-6 overall record and a 3-4 mark in the South Atlantic Conference. Conference foes that the Railsplitters have defeated include Queens (11-5), Brevard (16-13), and Mars Hill (11-4). Offensively, the Railsplitters are led by Adam Golia (35g, 11a) and Kyle Arcuri (30g, 13a). Golia's 35 goals are good for second in the conference, while his 46 points are good for fourth in the conference. Lincoln Memorial has also received solid play in between the pipes as goalkeeper Joe Medel has posted top five statistical numbers in a couple of categories in the conference. Those categories include saves (151), save percentage (55.1), and goals against average (9.89).
