Cobras Looking to Upset No. 19 Royals on Senior Day

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's lacrosse team will take the friendly confines of the Coker Athletic Field for the final time in the 2016 regular season on Saturday (Apr. 16) when they host the No. 19 nationally-ranked Queens University of Charlotte in South Atlantic Conference action. Opening face off is set for 8 p.m. with live stats and video available at www.cokercobras.com.

Mike Martiello and Shane Wilson lead a Coker offensive unit that is averaging 9.54 goals per game. Martiello's 58 points, on 27 goals and 31 assists, is tied for tops in the SAC. He has also broken the Coker single-season assists and points this season. Wilson has also shattered the Coker record books, netting a program-high 40 goals this season. His goal total is also the best in the SAC. On the defensive side of the ball, Patrick Timothee and DeShaun Ormond are second and fourth in the SAC with 19 and 15 caused turnovers each.

Queens travel to Hartsville sporting an 8-5 overall record and a 5-2 in-conference record. They are led by the 25 goals and 33 assists of Garrett Chan.

Saturday's game will also be senior day for the four seniors on the Coker roster. Josh Smith, Adam Zinsmeister, Martiello and Wilson will be honored before the start of the game.

Opening faceoff is set for 8 p.m. at the Coker College Athletic Field. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
