Cobras Conclude Season with Loss to Belmont Abbey

BELMONT, N.C. – The Coker men's lacrosse team ended its 2015 season on Saturday (May 2) with a loss to the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey College.

The game would be won in the first half, as the Crusaders held a 7-3 lead going into halftime. The two teams would play nearly even in the second half, with Coker outscoring Belmont Abbey, 8-7, in periods three and four combined to set the final score of 14-11.

Brad Clements scored three goals to lead the offense, while Shane Wilson tallied two goals and an assist and DeShaun Ormond netted two goals.

The Navy and Yellow conclude the 2015 season with an overall record of 9-5 and 7-1 record in conference play, which earned the squad a share of the 2015 regular season SAC title. The nine wins are also a single-season team record.
