
Coker's Ryan Named AstroTruf SAC Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week
Coker men's lacrosse player Tim Ryan has been named the AstroTruf South Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week.
HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College men's lacrosse player Tim Ryan has been named the AstroTruf South Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced today.
Ryan, a senior from Glocester, R.I., posted 28 saves in Coker's two wins last week. At Lynn, he notched 16 saves, a 61.5 save percentage and scooped up 11 ground balls the Cobras' 11-10 overtime win. He followed that effort with 12 saves and a save percentage of 52-percent in a 12-11 come from behind win over conference foe Lenoir-Rhyne on March 13. The award is his first Defensive Player of the Week nod this season.
On the season, Ryan has compiled 68 saves for a 9.7 saves per game average and has stopped 47.6-percent of the shots he has faced. His 68 saves and 47.6 save percentage are good for fifth and sixth, respectively, in the SAC statistical standings.
Ryan is a criminology major. He is the son of Jane and Bob Ryan.
