Car Raffle Adds to Excitement to Coker’s Lacrosse Opener

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – While all at Friday's lacrosse opener in Hartsville will have bragging rights about being part of college sports history, one lucky fan at the field could ride home in a new Chevrolet Camaro from Raceway Automotive Group.

Raffle tickets for a chance to shoot for a goal to win the car will be sold at the game:  one ticket for $2 and an arm's length for $20.

At halftime, one contestant, picked by a drawing of the raffle tickets sold, will have one chance to throw a ball with a lacrosse stick through a six-inch hole from 40 yards away to win the car.

Picked as the No. 5 team in the 2012 Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Preseason Coaches' Poll released last month, the Cobras will have home-field advantage when they play host to Shorter University in their inaugural game at 6 p.m. on the football field at Byerly Park.

Led by Head Coach Tony Smith, Coker is the sixth member of Conference Carolinas to have men's lacrosse, joining Belmont Abbey College, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, Pfeiffer University and Queens University of Charlotte.

With stores in Darlington, Hartsville and Florence, S.C., Raceway Automotive Group's full-service dealerships offer new Ford, Chevrolet and Buick vehicles and a selection of certified pre-owned cars, trucks and sport utility vehicles.
