Coker vs Tennessee River Rumble

Lenoir City, TN- The Cobras were on the road this week as they took on the Tennesse River Rumble hosted by Lincoln Memorial University. The tournament was held at Windriver Country Club, where the Cobras shot a +44 over the 3 rounds to take a T15th-place finish.

COKER RESULTS:

Derek McGlaughlin: R1: +2 | R2: +1 | R3: E | OVR: +3

Ty O'Brien: R1: +7 | R2: +1 | R3: +10 | OVR: +18

Dax Becker: R1: +4 | R2: +4 | R3: +5 | OVR: +13

HOW IT HAPPENED:

ROUND 1:

• Derek McGlaughlin

  • He led the team in round one with a final count of +2.

  • He started +2 after the first nine holes. McGaughlin then shot E with 2 birdies and 2 bogeys on his back nine.

• Dax Becker

  • +4

  • Similar to McGlaughlin, Becker was +2 on his front 9.

  • However, on his back 9, Becker had 2 birdies, 2 bogeys, and 1 double bogey to finish round 1 with a score of +4.

• Thomas Broshears

  • +5

  • Broshears carded 1 birdie, 4 bogeys, and a double bogey to finish his day at +5.

ROUND 2:

• Derek McGlaughlin
  
  • Led the team in round 2 with a final count of +1.
  • On the front nine, McGlaughlin shot +1 with 8 pars and 1 bogey.
  • The back nine saw some more excitement for McGlaughlin.
    • After a bogey on 11, he shot back quick to even par after a birdie on 13.
    • He followed up with another birdie on 15 before getting a bogey on 16 to finish the back nine even par.
• Ty O'Brien
  • Tied McGlaughlin in round 2 with a final score of 1 over.
  • On the front nine, O'Brien shot even par after 2 birdies and 2 bogeys.
  • Following the front nine saw O'Brien had 2 birdies, 1 bogey, and 1 double bogey.
• Dax Becker
  • He finished out round 2 third for the Cobras with a final score of +4
  • The front nine saw Becker shoot even par after 7 pars, 1 birdie, and 1 bogey.
  • On the back nine, Becker had 2 bogeys and a double bogey to record a +4 round to the clubhouse.

• Derek McGlaughlin
  • Led the team in the 3 rounds with a final score of Even Par.
  • On the front nine, McGlaughlin shot a tournament low of 33 or -3
    • With a total of 4 birdies between holes 2-6.
  • On the Back nine, McGlaughlin had 2 birdies, 1 bogey, and 2 double bogeys.
• Thomas Broshears
  • Finished second on the team in the 2nd round.
  • He started the front nine off strong as he shot -2 over three holes.
  • However, due to a bogey and a double bogey to finish out the front, the shot was +1.
  • On the back nine, Broshears shot a +2 as she had 7 pars and 2 bogeys.
• Dax Becker
  • On the front nine, Becker had 2 birdies and 3 bogeys to finish out the front nine at +1.
  • The back nine played a bit harder as Becker had 4 bogeys and 5 pars to finish out the back nine +4.

The Cobras will be on the road to compete in the SAC Championships next. The tournament will be held in Greenville, SC, at The Preserve at Verdae Greens on April 13th-15th.
