Men's golf shoots 11 under in a round breaking Coker record.
MYRTLE BEACH, SC. - Coker shot five under over the course of 54 holes, to place sixth in the Barton College Spring Bulldog Clash. Thomas Broshears led the way for the Cobras shooting five under on the week.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Coker shot one over par in the first round of the Barton College Spring Bulldog Clash Monday morning. Thomas Broshears and Ty O'Brien led the way for the Cobras, as they both shot two under par for the round. Broshears birdied five holes in the opening round, while O'Brien added four.
The second round proved to be historical for Coker. Previous to the round, Coker's best round as a team was ten under in a round, but Monday night that would be broken. Coker shot 11 under on the round, as four Cobras shot under par. Derek McGlaughlin led the way for Coker with a five under par performance, while Broshears added a three under par performacne on the second 18. Dax Becker and Ty O'Brien shot two and one under as well to help Coker break the record.
In round three, the course played more difficult for the Cobras than the previous two, and Coker shot five over to close out the tournament. Broshears shot even to lead the way in the round. Coker finished the tournament in sixth place, shooting five under overall. Wingate took home the win with a 15 under performance one stroke better than Arkansas-Fort Smith.
