Ryan in Second After Day One of J. Ralph Hargett Memorial

MONROE, N.C.- The Coker University men's golf team opened up play at the J. Ralph Hargett Memorial hosted at the Rolling Hills Country Club today (Mar. 14). The Cobras sit in fourth place with four players in the top 25.

 

As a team, Coker shot 587 (+11) through two rounds and sits just one stroke back of third place Lenoir-Rhyne and three strokes behind second place Belmont Abbey. 

 

Killian Ryan currently leads the Cobras and sits in second place overall with a score of 141 (-3), Ryan was able to convert six birdies through 36 holes. Jonathan Hallinger sit tied 19th place, shooting a 148 (+4), Hallinger shot for par on 28 holes and chipped in four birdies. Caleb Tidd and Coleman Bess both sit tied for 25th. Tidd was able to bounce back from a first round score of a 77 (+5) to shoot for par in round two where he shot four birdies and only bogeying once. 

Bess shot a 149 (+5) on the day, turning five birdies. 

Fred Tindale shot a 159 (+15) through two rounds with three birides and shooting an eagle on hole 13 in round two. 

 

"Our guys really stepped it up in round two and were able to bounce back from a rough opening round," said Head Coach John Hackney. "We have all the momentum heading into the final round tomorrow, and had the second-lowest second round at the tournament today. 'Our guys are hungry for more and I am pumped to see what they do tomorrow."
