Killian Ryan and Frederick Tindale lead Coker Men's Golf at State Farm Intercollegiate

TAZEWELL, Tenn. – The Coker University men's golf team completed their first two rounds on Monday (Oct. 8) at the Woodlake Golf Club, as the team currently sits in fourth place at the State Farm Intercollegiate. Finishing with a combined team score of 586 (+10) through two rounds of play. Freshmen Killian Ryan and Frederick Tindale led the Cobras, shooting a 143 (-1), and a 144 (E) respectively. Ryan's score of 143 has him in the top five individually, while Tindale is tied for sixth with 144. Ryan finished strong on the back nine in round two, shooting for birdie on three of the last four holes. Tindale shot very well on the back nine in round one, shooting two under par with four birdies. 

Junior Haydon Norwood sits tied for 15th individually with a score of 147 (+3). Norwood totaled six birdies in the first two rounds, with an impressive 70 (-2) in round one. Sophomore Coleman Bess finished with a total of 152 (+8), shooting one under par on the front nine in round one, totaling three birdies. Junior Nick Waller shot a 158 (+14), finishing strong with two birdies on holes 17 and 18 to conclude the second round. 

"Despite the bad weather conditions, our team played very well today," said coach Sam Stark. "We are looking forward to the challenge tomorrow to finish out strong in round three." 

The Cobras will finish round three at the Woodlake Golf Club in Tazewell, Tennessee on Tuesday (Oct. 9). Waller will start things off at 8:30, Coleman Bess at 8:40, Haydon Norwood at 8:50, Tindale at 9:00, and Ryan tees off at 9:10 a.m. Live scoring of the event can be found at www.cokercobras.com
