Through Two Rounds, Coker Out Front at Queens University Collegiate Invitational

KANNAPOLIS, N.C.- After two rounds of play at The Club at Irish Creek the Coker College men's golf team went into the clubhouse leading the field at the Queens University Collegiate Invitational. Finishing with a combined team score of 287 for the day and 277 in round one for a total of 564 (-4), the Cobras lead Barton College by two strokes. 

After winning the tournament championship last season, Coker is out to a good start of defending their title. Zachary Herold posted a first round 65 (-6) to take the overall individual lead for the Cobras on Sunday (Sept. 17). Herold now sits at two over (144) after the second round and tied for 17th.

Nicolas Parra and Ethan Cairns are both inside the top 15 for the Navy and Gold. Parra is one under tied for seventh, while Cairns is one over and tied for 13th.

Coker will have a two stroke lead over Barton heading into the final round of the Queens University Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday (Sept. 19), seeking their second consecutive tournament championship. You can follow the action with lives stats and video by visiting www.cokercobras.com.
