Cobras Remain in Fourth Heading into Final Round of SAC Championship

ETOWAH, N.C. – The Coker College men's golf team shot a second round score of 296 on day two of the South Atlantic Conference Men's Golf Championship Tournament. Coker's team score was tied for the second lowest score of the day and has them in fourth place going into the final round with a team score of 596. 

Will Bundy continues to lead the way for the Navy and Gold. The junior fired a second round score of 70 (-2) and is in second place individually with a two score of 144 (E). Wanjoo Lee came back after an opening round of 77 with a round of 71 (-1) on day two. The freshman is in a tie for tenth on the individual leaderboard with a two-round score of 148. Ethan Cairns and Jonathan Sundstrom signed off on rounds of 79 (+7) and 80 (+8). Cairns has a tournament score of 153 over the two days, while Sundstrom is at 155. Niclas Heino rebounded after an opening round of 80 with a score of 76 (+4) in his second round. The freshman has a tournament score of 156 going into the final 18 holes.

The Cobras trail leaders Carson-Newman and Lenoir-Rhyne by just five strokes, as both teams have scores of 591 through two rounds. Jon Noble of Queens is the individual leader with a tournament score of 143 thus far.

The final round will begin at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow morning (Apr. 19) at the Etowah Valley Resort, with teams teeing off holes 1 and 10. The Cobras will tee off on hole number one beginning at 8:30 a.m. Heino will tee off at 8:30 a.m., Sundstrom at 8:39 a.m., Cairns at 8:48 a.m., Lee at 8:57 a.m. and Bundy at 9:06 a.m. To keep up with the latest scores and updates from the SAC Men's Golf Championships, click here
