Cobras Begin 2016 Season at Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate

FLEMING ISLAND, FLA. – The Coker College men's golf team is set to get their 2016 season under way as they tee it up at the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday (Feb. 15-16).

The 54-hole tournament will take place at the 6,677-yard par-71 Golf Club at Fleming Island Plantation. The Cobras last played in the event in 2014, coming in fourth place.

Will Bundy leads the way for the Navy and Gold, compiling a scoring average of 72.3 in the four fall tournaments. In all, he fired six rounds of 72 or better in 11 total rounds recorded. Jonathan Sundstrom finished the fall with a scoring average of 74.8 in four tournaments. The sophomore recorded three rounds of 72 or better in the fall. Wanjoo Lee competed in two fall tournaments, registering a scoring average of 79.8. John Duke and Fred Eldridge round out the Coker traveling five, this tournament counting as the season debut for both players.

Coker is one of five South Atlantic Conference schools participating in the 17-team field.

Teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes in the final round on Tuesday. Monday's round will be an 8:30 am shotgun start, with the Cobras teeing off on holes 6-9. Updates and scores can be found at https://www.birdiefire.com/tournament/17682/
