Men's Basketball Falls to Carson-Newman on the Road

The Coker men's basketball team faced off against Carson-Newman in a highly anticipated game. Coker had a record of 11-8 overall and 7-4 in the South Atlantic Conference (SAC), while Carson-Newman had a record of 15-4 overall and 8-3 in the SAC.

Coker trailed in the first half as the Carson-Newman went on a run and took the lead going into the second half 67-38. Coker tried to rally in the second half, but Carson-Newman continued to extend their lead, ultimately winning the game with a final score of 120-81.

Despite the loss, Coker had some standout performances. Demar Anderson led the team in scoring with 22 points, shooting 7-17 from the field and a perfect 7-7 from the free-throw line. Glenn Bynum Jr. also had a solid game, contributing 15 points and 5 rebounds. Hayden Abdullah also contributed 11 points, 4 steals, and 3 rebounds for the Cobras.

Cobras will take the road for their next game as they face Anderson on Wednesday.
