Seven Cobras In Double Figures Leads To Yet Another Record-Breaking Night

Mars Hill, NC - The single-game team score record set in Saturday's win against LMU didn't last very long, with the Cobras offense coming out hot yet again in a 120-99 win over Mars Hill.

A big first half made the difference in this one, with the Cobras going up 68-45 before the break. In the second half, they extended the lead up to 34 points with 9:31 left on the clock in the second half. The Lions were able to make a small dent in the deficit before the final buzzer, but the Cobras still walked out of this one with a 21-point conference win on the road.

Hayden Abdullah had himself a monster game with a career-high 26 points on 11/12 (91.7%) shooting from the field to go along with 5 steals and 4 assists. Three other starters scored in double figures with Demar Anderson, Andre Leavell, and Tate Mulkey scoring 16, 14, and 11, respectively. The Cobras also had great production off the bench, with Anthony Burch having 15 points along with both Marvin Brumfield and Thomas Tyler having 12 points each. That makes a whopping seven Cobras in double-figure scoring on another record-breaking evening.

As a team, the Cobras shot an amazing 58.8% from the field, 53.6% from the arc, and 83.3% from the charity stripe. The Cobras used efficient shooting to cash in on their chances all night long to power themselves to victory. With that win, the Cobras now sit at 8-6 overall and move to above .500 in the SAC at 4-3. They look to carry the momentum of their back-to-back red-hot nights into this weekend, taking on another SAC foe on the road in the form of Newberry College.
