Coker Unable to Push Past Wingate in Late Season matchup

Hartsville, SC - The Coker University Men's Basketball Team dropped their game on Wednesday night (Feb. 1st) against Wingateby a score of 79-73.

Although the unwanted outcome, four Cobras scored within double digits to make up more than half the 73 points. Zavier Measmer (16), Tate Mulkey (13), Jordan Jones (10), and Marvin Brumfield (10) combined for a total of 49 points. Six other Cobras were able to get in on the action, making up the remaining 24 points. As a a team, Coker shot 51.9 percent from the field, 36 percent from the three point line. and 66.7 percent from the free throw line. 

Mahmoud Bangura was a force throughout the game, leading Coker with seven rebounds. Tate Mukey also registered five rebounds for the night and Jamie Muldowney had four. Coker had 10 assists for the night, two steals, and seven blocks. 

Jarren Cottingham of Wingate scored a game-high of 18 points. 

The Cobras will return to the court on Saturday (Feb. 4th) against Limestone. Tip off is set for 4:00 PM in Gaffney, SC. Live streaming and live stats will be available at www.cokercobras.com
