Cobras Fly by Valkyries in Monday Non-Conference Game

Hartsville, SC - The Coker University Men's Basketball Team defeated the Converse Valkyries by a score of 80-70 on Monday night (Dec. 19th).

Zavier Measmer, a Sophomore Guard out of Lexington, NC, carried the Cobras in their victory against the Valkyries with 18 points. Measmer had Tate Mulkey (17) and Jordan Jones (16) hot on his heels with their respective double digit game. Six other Cobras were able to get in on the action with the remaining 29 points. As a team, Coker shot 50.8 percent from the field, 50 percent from the three point line, and 90 percent from the free throw line.

Of the 21 rebounds, Mulkey and Mahmoud Bangura combined for eight to lead the team. Marvin Brumfield also collected three rebounds throughout the game. Jordan Jones, the play-maker of the game against Converse, had a total of seven assists. Jones, Burmfield, Bangura, Glenn Bynum Jr., and Measmer all combined for the total of 11 steals.

Uzziah Dawkins of the Valkyries also scored a team high of 16 points for Converse.
