Cobras Earn Third Victory With the Win Over Francis Marion

Hartsville, S.C. - The Coker Men's Basketball Team earned their third straight victory with the win over Francis Marion University on Wednesday (Nov. 16th) by a score of 74-60.

In their home opening match against Francis Marion University, the Cobras would jump into action quickly. Within ten minutes, the Coker Men's Basketball Team would be leading Francis Marion by double digits, a score of their points being collected from behind the free throw line. Francis Marion would fall behind by nearly a twenty point deficit and Coker would go into halftime at 35-20.

Coker continued their lead into the second half, faltering a bit behind the arc but quickly regaining their balance to put the game away. The Patriots mustered enough to bring their deficit within two possessions, but were ultimately unsuccessful as the Cobras finalized the game with a slam dunk from Mahmoud Bangura. Coker would put the game away at 74-60. 

The Cobras shot 40 percent from the field, and 31.6 percent from beyond the arc. Coker worked efficiently from the free throw line, shooting an above average 76.9 percent. Out of the seventy-four points scored, Demar Anderson would lead with eighteen. Jordan Jones (15) and Tate Mulkey (12) would also go on to record double digits for the Cobras, while five others would collect the final points of the game. Coker's Mahmoud Bangura and Jordan Jones registered nine individual rebounds out of the total forty, six others collecting the remaining twenty-two. Jordan Jones (5), Jamie Muldowney (3), Demar Anderson (2), Tate Mulkey (2), Marvin Brumfield (1), and Glenn Bynum Jr. (2) had a total of fourteen assists for the game. Demar Anderson led the team with six steals, while four other contributed to the team total of ten. Mahmoud Bangura and Jordan Jones also collected the two blocks for the Cobras.
