Cobras Earn Second Victory over North Greenville

Tigerville, S.C. - Coker University Men's Basketball Team claims their second win of the season on Saturday (Nov. 12th) over North Greenville University by a score of 83-78.

Very much like their previous match against Erskine College, the Cobras would begin the game point for point with the North Greenville Crusaders. The Crusaders would then go up in the first five minutes 9-13 and the Cobras would spend the majority of the first half trailing, until the final four minutes of the game. Coker would then go into the half leading 46-42.

Although Coker was able to enter the second half up by four point, the lead would not last for long and there would continue to be several lead changes throughout the remainder of the game. The second half was a battle for the final point and Coker would eventually win that battle, finishing the game at 83-78.

The Cobras shot 48.3 percent from the field, and 28 percent from beyond the arc. Coker worked efficiently from the free throw line, shooting 72 percent. Out of the eighty-three points scored, Demar Anderson and Jordan Jones would register for 18 individually. Mahmoud Bangura (15) and Zavier Measmer (11) would also go on to record double digits for the Cobras, while four others would collect the final points of the game. Coker's Jamie Muldowney registered nine of the thirty-three rebounds, quickly followed by Demar Anderson and Jordan Jones with five. Jordan Jones (8), Zavier Measmer (2), and Demar Anderson (1) brought in all eleven assists for the game. Zavier Measmer led the team with three steals, while five other contributed to the team total of nine. Mahmoud Bangura also collected the single block for the Cobras.

The Cobras will return to the court on Wednesday (Nov. 16th) against Francis Marion at 7:30 PM. The game will be a whiteout and will take place in Deloach Center. Live-stream and stats will be available at www.cokercobras.com
