Men's Basketball Falls at Queens (N.C.) Wednesday Night

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Coker University men's basketball team fell at Queens (N.C.) in South Atlantic Conference action Wednesday night (Feb. 5) by a score of 88-56.

Queens (N.C.) jumped out to a 16-3 lead after a red-hot start through the first five minutes, before Coker was able to regroup and get back within six with 12 and a half minutes to play in the half. The Cobras were able to keep the deficit at single digits for the next few minutes, before the Royals extended their lead into double-digits. Queens would take a 46-26 lead to the half.

The Royals would maintain and extend their double-digit lead in the second half on the way to the victory.

Malcolm Kennedy led the Cobras with 20 points, while Ryan Carfley also scored 11 points on the night. Six other Cobras contributed points in the game. Carfley completed the double-double with a team-high 12 rebounds, while seven other Cobras were active on the glass in the game. Chandler Lindsey paced the Cobras with two assists on the night, while KJ Harris and Kennedy each had one. Kennedy and Carfley each had one steal in the game, while AJ McQuaige registered the lone block for the Cobras in the contest.

The Cobras return home to the DeLoach Center on Saturday (Feb. 8) to host Carson-Newman in South Atlantic Conference action. Tip-off is set for 4:00 p.m., with video and live stats available at www.cokercobras.com.
