Coker Falls to Catawba in Conference Action

SALISBURY, N.C. – The Coker College men's basketball team traveled to Catawba on Wednesday (Jan. 10) evening and fell to the Indians 77-71 in South Atlantic Conference action. 

The first half of action saw the Cobras struggle and the Indians held a 37-28 lead heading into halftime. Next, Coker battled back into the game by compiling an 11-2 run to tie the contest at 39. Donte Samuels and Khalil Halls scored all 11 points during the momentum-shifting run. Catawba eventually regained the lead and held on for the victory. 

Halls led the way for the Navy and Gold, recording 23 points with a 3-7 mark from three-point range. Demarco Jackson recorded a double-double by knocking down 14 points and collecting 10 rebounds. In addition, Samuels earned a double-double as well, tallying 11 points and adding 12 rebounds.   

The Cobras will be back in action on Saturday (Jan. 13) when they host Anderson in a South Atlantic Conference game. Opening tip is set for 4 p.m.
