Coker Comes From Behind To Take Down Lincoln Memorial In Overtime
Kaiya Sabur's overtime goal lifts Coker for second conference win
Hartsville, SC. - Kaiya Sabur dribbled left, before ripping a rocket into the back of the net to lift Coker in come from behind fashion Wednesday evening. Coker tied the game with under a minute left to force overtime, before prevailing in the extra period.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Coker jumped out to an early lead just two minutes into the match Wednesday night, as Skylar Ponik put home a ball that was put in by Kaiya Sabur and Amba Brown.
Lincoln Memorial responded with less than 10 seconds left in the second quarter as they burried a shot in to tie the game heading into the half.
Three minutes into the third quarter, the Railsplitters added their second goal to take a 2-1 lead.
Coker continued to show fight throughout the match, scratching multiple corners and shots on target, but it was Ana Carney of Lincoln Memorial, turning the Cobras away multiple times.
The Cobras received three corners within the last five minutes of regulation, while putting four shots on frame, none bigger than Aleena Januchowksi's in the 58th minute. Kaiya Sabur weaved through multiple defenders on the left side before placing a perfect ball to the back post that Januchowksi put into the back of the net to tie the match.
In overtime, the Railsplitters had three penalty corners early, but Coker continued to stay strong on the defensive side, keeping them off the board.
Four minutes into overtime, Kaiya Sabur delivered once again for the Cobras. This week's SAC offensive player of the week, got her chance and took full advantage of it. The graduate student ripped a shot into the back of the net, giving Coker the 3-2 win.

Coker finished their season Saturday when they travel to Belmont Abbey. The match is set to start at 12 pm.
