Hartsville, SC. - Wingate jumped out to an early lead, and played sound defensive to take down Coker Tuesday afternoon. The Cobra's struggled to get momentum on the offensive end, as the Bulldogs held Coker scoreless.
How it happened:
Wingate got on the board first in the tenth minute, when Lauren Montgomery put in a goal on a pass from Riley Robinson.
The Bulldogs added two more in the second quarter to take a commanding 3-0 lead over the Cobras into the half.
Coker continued to show signs of fight throughout the match, but was unable to put any of their opportunities home. Coker tallied three shots on goal, but it was Audra Szymorski who turned the Cobras away time and time again throughout.
Coker added six pentalty corners on the night to go along with their three shots on goal to round out their team stats.
Kaiya Sabur, who was recently named SAC offensive player of the week, paced the Cobras with two shots being on target.
