Hartsville, SC. - Coker fought hard, but three late Converse goals helped defeat the Cobras Sunday afternoon. Kaiya Sabur continued her impressive week with a goal in the third quarter. She has now scored four goals and assisted on three throughout her last three matches.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
It was Converse who struck first Sunday, when Amparo Figueroa put a goal in the back of the net.
Coker battled the rest of the first quarter, turning away five shots that Converse ripped at the goal.
The second quarter saw Coker continue to stay strong on the defesnvie side of the field. Emma Reininga registered six saves throughout the first two periods.
Converse held a 1-0 lead at the break, while tallying 15 more shots than the Cobras.
In the third, Coker seized one of the few chances they had on offesnse. Kaiya Sabur continued her exceptional play, and put her fourth goal of the week into the back of the net to tie the game at one.
Converse responded three minutes into the fourth quarter to take a 2-1 lead.
The Cobras eventually surrendered two late goals in the closing minutes of the game to fall 4-1 on senior day.
