HARTSVILLE, SC. - Belmont Abbey scored a goal in the first and second quarter in route to take down Cobra 2-0 in Thursday's conference match.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The first quarter saw both teams exchange opportunites Thursday night with each team having a shot on goal. The Crusaders took advantage of their opportunity with less than a minute left on the clock when Casey Etter put a ball in the back of the net on a pass from Jessica Rybicki.
Belmont Abbey added a second goal two minutes into the second quarter.
The Cobras best chance came in the second quarter when the Cobras put back to back shots on goal from Florine Tillemans and Aleena Januchowksi. The Crusaders goalie turned away both chances on spectacular saves.
The second half consisted of both teams exchanging opportunites, but neither able to put a goal in the net, as the 2-0 halftime score held the remainder of the way.
Coker put four shots on goal throughout the match while receiving four penalty corners.
